My recent research activity has been focused on two main topics:

  • the analysis of genotypic and phenotypic diversity related to quality and adaptability traits in Spanish traditional wheat germplasm
  • the assessment of wheat varieties’ response to sustainable crop management practices, with especial interest on end-use quality.


  • Responsibility of several courses: Applications of Biotechnology in Plant Breeding (Master in Agroforestry Biotechnology); Plant Breeding (Degrees in Biotechnology and in Agriculture Sciences and Bioeconomy)
  • Delivering lectures and diverse teaching activities in Genetic basis of plant breeding
  • Involvement in several European and National teaching projects
    • New teaching methods in Genetics and Plant Breeding (UPM innovative teaching project)
    • TechEnglish (UPM innovative teaching project)
