Research

My research has a focus on crop improvement with the aim to contribute to sustainable crop production. Topics of special interest in my team are: cereal genetics and breeding, with a focus on genetics of disease resistance in wheat. Mapping of disease resistance loci, agronomic, and quality traits. High resolution mapping and gene cloning, use of mutant populations, gene expression, marker assisted breeding, and genomic selection.

Main responsibilities and qualifications: Professor for plant breeding, research and teaching, competitive grant funded research projects. Principal investigator in an FWF (Austrian Science Fund) funded special research project: Fusarium.
